Ole, why a motivation boost?
Because sometimes you need a little boost. And I will provide exactly that right here.
If you have questions or remarks like: 'Not every day is amazing' or 'I have a hard time finding something every day'? Then I salute you and consider you perfectly human. But they also give me an opportunity to help you out a little bit.
Either look down below for the motivation boosts, or click here to see how a proper THI is done.
Flip the words if it helps. It does for me.
The name I chose is obviously Today's Happy Incident. But in this ferrari dopamine world, I need to give you permission for something. And yes, it's a relief, and one of a kind.
It's allowed, and maybe even encouraged, to have a THI about a TINY thing that day. A bird. One second of sunshine on your face. A laugh from a person. I actually prefer that you do those. Without boring you with science, believe me, it's healthier.
And for that day that you do buy a ferrari without having to put a mortgage on your house, by all means, the ferrari is the THI that day. :) For the rest of the days, get those amazing small moments in there, with your unique view of the world.
We are trained to perform. Mostly delivering one single right answer. But for this question, What made me happy today? Please see it as a question for yourself to find the moment. Not as a task you have to perform in, or come up with the best outcome. No, let it flow. Don't perform. Don't get the best in. Do what feels good.
First thing that's good to know. You are part of a worldwide community of fellow THI users. :) And all of them, at the end of the day, preferably before bed, are taking a short moment to think of what made them happy that day. Some days are easier than others. But even better to find a moment on a bad day. We all struggle with it. But we do it anyway. Because if you scroll through your moments right now, you'll get a smile on your face. That's what it's all about.
One line is enough! Why did I put a cap on the amount of words you can use? Because on an amazing day, you'll be like Shakespeare and flow over with moments. On a busy day, or a not so amazing day, it can be way harder. Know that the threshold is ONE moment. You are of course free to do as many as you want. But I did this on purpose so you keep having fun doing it.
Last line of motivation: You are the best. You got this.
Vamos.
Don't worry. No guilt, no shame. I also missed a day occasionally because of a change of schedule or something unexpected. Your flow meter doesn't reset. So next day, you're up again, with a fresh day.
Not noting in the app that day doesn't mean the day is lost. This could be commercial suicide. But listen, putting it in the app is amazing and I as well as many others would say, do it. But if it isn't possible that day for whatever reason, do it in your head. What was a happy moment today?
Number one advice I got: make it so that you can add friends and like each other's THI's. To be honest, it has been that way. But I came back from that decision. Because it gives you social pressure. Your close 1, 2 or 3 friends are fun. Until a work colleague asks you to become friends, and so on.
So enjoy your personal space. :)
And if you want a sharing option for friends, let me know.
You got this. : )
